Yosemite and Seattle

Just got back from a fabulous action-packed vacation for which I spent the first weekend in Yosemite camping with Mariah, Toni, Tracey and Linnea and the second week in Seattle with little dude, mom and Sage. Here are some pics of the whole affair.
First day: hike along the river with views of El Capitan.

Back at camp, mariah and i fought over the last sip of Bailey's. she won. i recovered with the help of Toni's amazing campfire invention of smores with peanut butter.

Second day: hike up to Nevada Falls via the Mist trail just under the half dome.

After lunch, we rested on a beach we found in teh middle of the river with views of crazy rock climbers on El Cap, one had been up there 10 days.
Third day: hike in Tolumne Meadows at 8,000 feet. I got up close and personal with a yellow bellied marmot, almost an 8 year dream.

After a night at Toni's in Davis, I flew to Seattle to help my mom spackle, cook some chili with little dude and then show Sage around the town.

After little dude flew off to Madison en route to India, mom treated us to the EMP, ode to Jimi Hendrix and music in general. Going with the whole bridge builder theme, a visit to the Freemont bridge troll was in order too.

Next day after acquiring some of seattle's finest gas station coffee and a new carhart outfit, we headed to Deception Pass in our fabulously lame silver PT Cuiser for some kayaking and the requisite salmon fish and chips in Coupeville where we met the locals and enjoyed some complimentary Penn Cove mussels and beer.

On our final day, we relaxed on Tradition lake at the base of Tiger mountain with some Rogue before catching our flight home.
